About Us

My name is Shari Halldane. I have been breeding AKC Champion Irish Terriers since 1978 under the prefix O' Dare.   My start in dogs began as a junior handler in the early 1970s.    My first showdog was a German Shepherd who I showed in AKC Obedience and AKC junior handling.   I was always attracted to the terrier breeds from my first beginnings in the sport of showing dogs.   I diligently saved up my babysitting earnings to purchase my first terrier a Westie "Misty".  Misty introduced me headfirst into the terrier world and gave me an introduction to hand-stripped breeds.   Misty opened a lot of doors for me as a young inspired junior handler wanting to learn as much as possible.  I apprencticed for many esteemed long time kennels and professional handlers in California.  Due to my love for dogs I worked as a veterinary technician until I was offered employment working for a professional handler.   I am active in several breed clubs and several specialty clubs.  I have bred and finished over 30 Irish Terrier Champions.  I have also bred or shown Smooth Fox Terriers, Silky Terriers,  Airedale Terriers, West Highland White Terriers,  Minature Schnauzers, and Lowchens.  I have a full time mobile grooming service.   I have served on the board and acting president of a few of my chosen breed clubs and I remain active showing and mentoring in my respected breed the Irish Terrier.   I have a special place in my heart for juniors learning the ropes of the sport.
